Hi everyone

Following the initial success of the Failte32 Initiative, and building on the increased interest in what the initiative is offering, it was decided to build increased website functionality to make it easier for people to access the information Failte 32 has to offer. Also added was the ability for people to sign up to our new E-mail listserv, and the addition of an RSS feed. We have also combined Failte32.com with Failte32.org to make it easier for people to identify with the Failte brand on the internet, and to let people know that we are a non-profit and do not receive any form of direct or indirect compensation. It is a purely voluntary initiative. Although we promote our strategic partners on our website, which are for-profit businesses, they do not compensate us in any way, and they have committed their support to Failte 32. We also believe their services supplement the services we provide to our members.

Please send us you event schedule so that we can post on the new ‘news/events’ section on our website.

Our new website guru is Declan Prenty, a well known figure in the Irish American community, who has committed his time and expertise on a voluntary basis to helping design our new website. Declan has given a lot of his time and energy on a voluntary basis to other organizations including the Irish Network-NYC (www.IN-NYC.com) where he built out their website functionality, and was a key figure in the success of the organization for a number of years. You can contact Declan at [email protected] to discuss his independent consultancy services.

We appreciate that there is a lot of information in this newsletter but it is a busy time of the year, and it is important that those of you on this email list considering emigrating to the U.S. be aware of activities and important contacts in the Irish American community so that you are prepared and well informed before you arrive.

Failte 32 will now feature one of our affiliated organizations every month on its website. Our first featured organization will be the Irish Network-NYC. It’s current President is Gina Reilly, of the financial firm, Macquarie (www.macquarie.com). Gina has been an active board member of the IN-NYC for a number of years and no better person to now lead the organization to the next level. Congratulations Gina!

We are in the process of compiling a list of potential employers to prepare for the surge of Summer J1 visa holders soon to arrive in New York. Please let us know of any employers you are aware of who will be hiring seasonal staff over the Summer period.

Check out the great website and unique marketing philosophy of Culture Shock Marketing (one of our strategic partners – www.cultureshockmarketing.com). Incidentally, Debra Anderson, its CEO & Founder recently helped a young marketing graduate, who was searching for employment through RendezVous353.com, find employment. Debra’s company has a very impressive staff and international board of advisors.
