UK Launch
Held at the Irish Cultural Centre,in Hammersmith, this event drew a diverse and influential London-Irish audience of 120+.

At the event Richard announced our strategic partnership with Ireland.com, which is the definitive web portal for what’s happening in Ireland.(Indeed ,their owners, ‘The Irish Times’, were also present and we hope to benefit from their press coverage, once the site integration is complete within the next week. He also announced our new Charity Partner, ‘Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind’.
Richard and Eileen also attended the prestigious ‘Irish Youth Foundation Ball’ at the Hilton, Park Lane, two night after the launch. RendezVous353 got great value ,in terms of publicity from our sponsorship of the big performance of the night by Irish Dance group, ‘Hammerstep’. They are made up of current and past Riverdance stars and mix tap and hip-hop with Irish dance.

Future Collaborations…
We hope to work together with Hammerstep, to help promote each other, in the spring of 2011.Richard also received similar interest about some collaborative initiatives, from singer Angelina Ball, who was also present, as The Commitments’ are having a series of concerts in the New year, to mark the 20th Anniversary of the movie. Between the above and with the help of member ,Paul Brady ,we plan to have some exciting link-ups in the Spring.

New RendezVous People.
We are happy to announce 2 New & Welcome additions to the RV353 Crew !

Gerardine Gantly will be working full-time in Galway with Terry. Ger will be looking after the PR function for the company going forward and will also be responsible for matching members with jobs and employers and helping raise revenue by charging recruitment agency for our services.

Our new London ‘Champion’ is Catherina Casey, originally from Blarney, thereby breaking the Limerick/Galway monopoly! Cat currently manages the Irish Cultural Center and was instrumental in helping make our UK launch at the London venue such a big success.

Champion Updates:
In New York, Maurice continues to help Irish Job-seekers to find work through Failté32. He ably assisted Terry on his most recent trip to the Big Apple, helping organise meetings with Irish Business Networks, IN-USA & IIBN as well as attending The Ireland US-Council and Northern Irish Connections (Diaspora Initiative) events & others.
(Maurice’s ‘Failté32-Jobs in New York’, MiniSite is still growing and at last count, had 376 members)

Andrea continues to fly the Irish and RendezVous353 flag in the 6 Arabian Gulf countries that she represents for us. She recently had a tremendous response from an Irish gathering in Oman to a presentation that she made about RV353 and what we are doing. As with Maurice in New York, Andrea is continuously forging ever stronger links with the DFA and their Consulate offices in the region. Currently, she is helping them ,via RV353,to source 100 Irish Teachers to fill positions in Oman.

Our newest Champion, Catherina has extensive London-Irish connections and is, like all our Champions, a natural and very prolific Networker. In addition to managing the busy Irish Cultural Center, in Hammersmith, Cat is on the London St. Patrick’s Festival as well as being an Irish representative on the London Organizing Committee for the 2012 Olympics .Cat is very keen, going forward, to help develop strong links for Irish Arts worldwide.

All of our Champions share a similar relationship with RendezVous353 .That is, that our Network’s goals and their different personal/career aims, run parallel and therefore compliment each other.

Media/Public Relations.
We continue to build brand awareness via Press, Radio and on-line. The two appearances by Terry & Richard on The Sunday Business Show, on Today fm particularly caused significant spikes in new members and general site activity. The presenter of the programme, Conall O’Morain is now an active member of RV353 and has offered to assist us with Irish PR.

The Press release of our UK Launch was circulated to Launch to a large number of newspapers and websites.
The story was published on the Irish World paper, in London, the Limerick Leader & Post papers and the Western People. We are advised by Ireland.com that The Irish Times PR company will promote our partnership, when we go live over the next week or so.
In addition to the traditional press, our launch was covered by a number of on-line publications. The largest of these was San Francisco-based, Technology website, ‘TechCrunch’.  As a result of registering our company details and posting our Press Release with this AOL-owned company; we received a massive ’’spike’ in new member from all over the world!

Networking.
When possible we continue to work with organisations that help facilitate our networking goals. These include Shannon Development, Tangible Ireland and The Department of Foreign Affairs. Further to meetings that Terry had at Iveagh House, the DFA have issued communiqués to their Embassies & Consulate worldwide, endorsing RendezVous353 and encouraging their staff to use our services and spread the word, amongst Irish communities.

To help promote new membership, we have run a few competitions locally in Limerick for tickets to Heineken Cup matches at Thomond Park;
New RV353 Member Elaine Rockett a her friend Deirdre Noonan ,not only won the tickets for this weekend’s Munster v. Ospreys match, but were also caught by the Sky Sports camera on a close-up !We already have plans to be involved in a business network event, on the day of the Munster v. London Irish match, when Shannon Development plan to host a group of 100+ from a CityJet charter being shared by London-Irish & IIBN, business Network at the Strand Hotel on the 3rd weekend of January.
