Hi everyone

We received an email from Frieda Klotz (contact details below) who is doing a piece for the Irish Times about Irish young people who are over here finding their feet and are unable to fly home for Christmas. If you’re interested in doing a brief interview with Frieda (and giving a wave to everyone back home), please contact her asap as she’s on a tight deadline.

Sometimes we give a plug or two if we feel it merits it. In light of Ireland’s current efforts to attract back entrepreneurs to start up innovative businesses at home, we thought ‘the Cheesemall’ (endorsed by Senator Feargul Quinn) was a useful read. Scroll down our news/events section for more info.  http://www.failte32.org/latest-news/

Please see (attached) Enterprise Ireland’s Briefing Doc. on Ireland’s new Euro 10 Million Fund for International Start-ups. Maybe this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for to bring that innovative idea back home to Ireland by setting up an innovative enterprise in your home town.

Failte 32 will soon be announcing details of a Trade Mission to Ireland that is currently being planned for 2012. The trade mission, called ‘Opportunity Ireland’ is planned to be launched next year by the Irish Examiner USA in unison with the James Joyce Foundation, USA, and will be an initiative designed to attract international companies to Ireland, particularly emerging companies, to help Ireland get back on track as one of the most sucessful economies in Europe. It will also attempt to establish a business support feedback from Ireland to the U.S. which will hopefully help initiatives such as Failte 32 and others in their efforts to help our newest arrivals find employment in the U.S. Therefore, it will be great if we can get the support of our affiliated organizations and the Irish community behind it. The mission will be an exciting cultural/leisure and business experience. More exciting news on how you can be involved coming soon……

We would like to congratulate the Irish Business Organization (www.ibo-ny.com), one of Failte 32’s affiliated organizations, which supported a number of charitable causes this past year. The IBO is a voluntary business networking organization.

Niall O’leary, its outgoing President, has done a tremendous job leading the organization in 2011. Sheila Lynott, its new President elect, along with its new board, will no doubt continue to lead the organization from strength to strength.
